About Plan 52

What is Plan 52?

Simply put, Plan 52 is my list of 52 tasks that I hope to accomplish over the course of the next year. Some are things that I have always wanted to do but never did. Others are things that I really need to do, but have just procrastinated or avoided. So the whole “in a year” genre is a completely overused gimmick, I know, but sometimes it takes a gimmick just to get the ball rolling.

When I started my list, I thought it would be a snap to come up with 52 things I want to accomplish over the next year. I mean that's only one thing per week! I was on a roll for the first 25 or so, then it got a lot harder. I really had to fight the urge to turn this into a bucket list. Instead I tried to focus on things that are going to be challenging—whether physically, mentally, or emotionally—and improve the lives of myself and my family.

So here goes... Today is my birthday. Some of the items on my list are onetime check-offs, others will involve a whole year's follow through to finish, but either way, by the time my next birthday rolls around I hope to have 52 items crossed off in that column to the left.
