Running

I'm going to use this page to post my training schedule for each week, along with any comments.  I'll cross each item out as I complete it.

Week 5-Build Stage: (11/15-11/21)

Monday: Yoga, Pilates or CT
Tuesday: WU 5 minutes. Run at a CV Pace for 3 minutes/walk 2 minutes X's 6 (total of 30 minutes). CD 5 minutes.
Wednesday: CT, CORE or Rest Day
Thursday: WU 5 minutes. Run at a CV Pace for 4 minutes/walk 1 minute X's 6 (total 30 minutes). CD 5 minutes.
Friday: CT or Rest Day
Saturday: WU 10 minutes. Run at a CV Pace for 4 minutes/walk 1 minute X's 10 (total 50 minutes). CD 10 minutes.
Sunday: REST DAY

Week 4-Base Stage: (11/8-11/14)
Monday: Yoga, Pilates or CT  (Done: Yoga for Fitness)
Tuesday: WU 5 minutes. Run at a CV Pace for 3 minutes/walk 2 minutes X's 5 (total of 25 minutes). CD 5 minutes.  (Done:  Total of 6 intervals)
Wednesday: CT, CORE or Rest Day  (Done:  BodyPump)
Thursday: WU 5 minutes. Run at a CV Pace for 4 minutes/walk 1 minute X's 5 (total 25 minutes). CD 5 minutes.  (Done:  On my own around lake--why does running by myself seem so much harder?  But I pushed myself to do 6 intervals and held final run until I reached top of hill, almost 6 minutes.)
Friday: CT or Rest Day  (Done:  Rest day)
Saturday: WU 10 minutes. Run at a CV Pace for 4 minutes/walk 1 minute X's 6 (total 30 minutes). CD 10 minutes.  (Done:  Eight intervals along same beach route as last week, but we were going much faster.  Exhausting, but I love the feeling of knowing I can do it!)
Sunday: REST DAY  (Done: Did Power Yoga to swap out for Friday rest day.)

Week 3-Base Stage: (11/1-11/7)
Monday: Yoga, Pilates or CT  (Done: Yoga for Fitness)
Tuesday: WU 5 minutes. Run at a CV Pace for 3 minutes/walk 2 minutes X's 5-6 (total of 20-25 minutes). CD 5 minutes.  (Done:  Did 6 intervals with my fast buddy.  Need to pick up the walking, but the runs were pretty quick--I calculated them at around 10 minutes per mile.)
Wednesday: CT, CORE or Rest Day  (Done:  Taking a rest day today due to general feelings of malaise.)
Thursday: WU 5 minutes. Run at a CV Pace for 4 minutes/walk 1 minute X's 5 (total 25 minutes). CD 5 minutes.  (Done:  This is the first day that I really struggled to complete the intervals.  Buddy and I were both feeling congested and lethargic.  But we managed to drag ourselves through all five intervals!)
Friday: CT or Rest Day  (Done:  Decided to baby my aching shins with Aqua Boot Camp.)
Saturday: WU 5 minutes. Run at a CV Pace for 4 minutes/walk 1 minute X's 5 (total 25 minutes). CD 5 minutes.  (Done:  Wow!  We pushed ourselves today, thanks to our mentor.  Completed 8(!!) x 4/1 intervals.)
Sunday: REST DAY  (Done:  Decided to swap out with the rest day I took on Wednesday, so today I did Flexible Strength (a yoga/pilates-inspired stretching class) and Zumba.)

Week 2-Base Stage: (10/25-10/31)
(For some reason my comments disappeared, so I'm trying to recreate them from memory...)
Monday: Yoga or 30 minute run/walk session  (Done:  Yoga for Fitness)
Tuesday: 10 minutes w/u pace. 3 minutes brisk pace (med tempo)/2 minutes recovery x's 3 (15 minutes). 10 minute c/d pace  (Done:  Actually pushed ourselves and did four intervals.)
Wednesday: CT  (Done: BodyPump)
Thursday: Run/Walk Intervals: 5 minute w/u. 3 minutes med tempo/2 minutes recovery x's 4 (20 min). 5 minute c/d  (Done:  Coach changed up to 6 3x2 intervals with middle two done at med tempo.  And they just about kicked. my. butt.  Ouch!  My whole body was aching that night.)
Friday: CT (Missed due to daughter being sent home from school with fever.)
Saturday: Run 4/1's x's 8 or 9 sets or 3/2's x's 8 or 9 sets (40-45 minutes)  (Done:  Completed nine intervals on my own on Sunday.  I will never again underestimate the additional motivation from running with a buddy!)
Sunday: REST DAY!  (Done:  Actually had two rest days this week due to my husband's complete inability to communicate the small details--for instance what day he will actually be returning from Japan!)

Week 1-Base Stage: (10/18-10/24)
Monday: Yoga, Pilates or CT   (Done: Yoga for Fitness)
Tuesday: WU 5 minutes. Run at a CV Pace for 3 minutes/walk 2 minutes X's 5-6 (total of 20-25 minutes). CD 5 minutes.  (Done:  In a thunder storm, no less!)
Wednesday: CT, CORE or Rest Day  (Done: BodyPump + Gentle Yoga)
Thursday: WU 5 minutes. Run at a CV Pace for 4 minutes/walk 1 minute X's 5 (total 25 minutes). CD 5 minutes.  (Done: Felt amazing!  Go Julie, Go!)
Friday: CT or Rest Day  (Done:  Slept through 5:45 am yoga due to operator/alarm clock error, but made it to Aqua Boot Camp instead.)
Saturday: WU 5 minutes. Run at a CV Pace for 4 minutes/walk 1 minute X's 5 (total 25 minutes). CD 5 minutes.  (Done:  First day on the trail instead of street.  Felt great and actually had to slow my pace to stay with my buddy.)
Sunday: REST DAY  (Done, although I'm not sure if a day walking around the San Diego Zoo actually counts as rest!)
